There's independent film and then there's nano-independent film. The goal of Texas Film Interactive is to provide a platform for Texas low/no/faux-budget creativess to display and promote their filmic work.

With stills and press kits online, filmmakers will be able to use TFIA as their professional promotion hub to publicize their films.

TFIA was started by Valerie Asensio, a writer and magazine publisher/editor and newbie filmmaker. When she made her first narrative short she realized the need for a central location for Texas independent fillmakers to publicize their films in a professional manner.
